WOOOT!

Gotta love HC basketball. Who woulda thunk? HC women take the Patriot title and are therefore taking the band with them on a free trip to somewhere for more basketball!! I wish I could have been at the game :( Anyway, YEAHH CROSS!

Another Survey!

I've done 79 out of 144 )

Haha ok, some of those questions were really random.

One thought: 70 degrees yesterday was awesome. My mom even saw swans and I saw some lady bugs. But, does that mean all of the little creatures will die when it gets cold again? :(

mo pie

Well, it has certainly been awhile since my last update. I'm really not all that good at this whole livejournal thing.

Thanksgiving has been awesome. Family, food, it's hard to go wrong. It's great when you host Thanksgiving at your house, because then you get all the leftovers! I dont think I have had anything to eat today that hasn't been leftovers (including apple and pumpkin pie for breakfast). My cousins brought the new Nintendo Wii over, which was a lot of fun to play around with. And for those of you that dont know this already, I am horrible at video games. An absolute disgrace. I could actually do this Wii thing tho, much to my surprise. In the Wii system, you can create a bunch of little characters that you can use in all of them games. So, my cousin created a Wii person for all of us, "So he could take all of his cousins with him wherever he goes." Awww. It would be cute, except for my character has an evil toothy grin that reminds me of Hannibal the Cannibal.

Wednesday night was fun. Joey and I went on youtube, and laughed at all sorts of ridiculous movies, including Weird Al and David Hasselhoff.

Whaaaaat?

Ahhh noooo! So the band trip to Lafayette is canceled for this weekend. How depressing. Our director, who is new and still learning how we do things, canceled our bus and hotel reservations yesterday before practice when he heard that Lafayette wouldn't give us time on the field during halftime. Which is pretty rude of them in the first place, but we could still play in stands and be loud and obnoxious, which we are good at doing. And plus, the band overnight is the highlight of marching season. We told this to Eric (the director) yesterday at practice that we still wanted to go and he said ok and that he understood. However, what he failed to tell us was that he canceled our reservations before practice so we could get our money back without asking any of us. I guess he was hoping he could make a few quick calls last night and get the reservations back, but no. Everyone makes mistakes, but I am a bit concerned that he couldn't tell us at practice that he had already cancelled our reservations and was willing to just keep it his little secret. Not much we can do now though. I was actually looking forward to a long bus ride of the shadiness that is band. And I must admit I was hoping just a little bit that we would watch Jesus Christ Superstar, because that would have been hilarious. There is also the fact that Julie, Amy, Kim, and I would be sharing a room which equals more hilarity. And then there was that whole playing at the football game thing. Oh well, what can you do. At least we'll be going to American in January instead for basketball.

So, instead on Friday night we will be playing at the hockey game which will be cool since they ended up going to the NCAA tournament last year and posting a major upset. Also, the hockey team likes to have us there a lot as well, which is cool. We are appreciated! Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get hit with a puck again and get another souvenir. Huzzah.

Snap and a half

All in all, this weekend was pretty decent... I went home and got to see my family and grandparents. It was nice to just get away from HC for a bit and relax. Sometimes it's hard to see when we are here, but in all honesty, Mt. St. James is a bit of a fantasy world. I must say, it's a very nice fantasy world, but it's illusion just the same. We live in our own little worlds here for 4 years, and often times it's hard to see the world for what it really is.

I know for me personally, I do lose a little touch of reality here. I see things through a different lense, which in many ways is a good thing, as it teaches us to view the world in a more positive light, but then again it masks those things which are blatantly obvious, standing boldly right in front of our very eyes. That's what parents are good for. They make you see those obvious things that either you can't see yourself or simply dont want to see. Although sometimes I get nervous talking to them or feel like they are bearing down on me, they're only doing it for my best interest.

Siblings are pretty awesome too. They're always there to give you grief. When you do deserve it, they slap you in the face, and they can get away with it a) because they are younger and have the right to hit you, or b) because you know you deserve it. Either way, they're pretty sweet. Hahaha. And then isn't it awesome when you're little brother has to get his 2 cents in? Too cute. Ahaha.

So maybe this whole thing doesn't make all that much sense... I didn't really expect it to, since my head is a little jumbled at this moment anyway. In short, it's good to get the old mind cranking in a way that looks beyond life on the hill here and in this moment, and instead look forward to the bigger picture not just here at HC but in life beyond the Cross as well. Yes folks. There is life beyond college, however sad it may be. So, I guess I'll just end by saying that I've got a lot to think about, considering who I am as a person, and how I am going to identify myself, and take a closer look at this world around me, the people around me, starting with life here at HC, and how I am going to mold it in such a way to make the most out of it.

'nough said.

I have 2 more things to say:
1) HCGTMBVB starts Tuesday... HOORAH!
2) HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIANNE KULEVICH! I HEART MY ROOMIE!!
